School of Dentistry, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Islamabad, is the first public sector dental college established in the capital city of Pakistan and SOD is a constitute school of teaching training facility. The Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU), a public sector federal university, was established in the premises of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad; by an Ordinance of the National Assembly on 21st March, 2013.
School of Dentistry is the state of art Dental school and Hospital highly conducive to learning established in the heart of the capital as a constituent college of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University. It is affiliated with Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences Islamabad. It was initiated in 2016 and completed in record time of four years.
It is a state of art facility in the capital of Pakistan. It was sponsored by Higher Education Commission and it was completed by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University which is the leading University in Capital. SOD has two components college component which is going to induct 100 students for BDS Programs at undergraduate level and also will take post graduate students in MPhil, MDS and FCPS for post graduate training. The other component is Dental Hospital Component which has more than 125 Dental chairs and two state of art Operating Theaters which will cater the population in Capital and other Northern Areas .We expect to examine and treat more than 15000 patients to start in 1st year.
In school of Dentistry there are well equipped departments of operative dentistry and Peadriatic dentistry Oral Maxillofacial , Orthodontics, Prosthodontics and Periodontology. It is one of the only few hospitals having dedicated Paedriatic Department with facility of conscious sedation. School of Dentistry has latest equipment of specialized treatment for accurate diagnosis. Our mission is to inculcate in dental professionals the knowledge and skills to provide exemplary patient care with multi-disciplinary approach.
