BDS Admissions

Eligibility Criteria

In accordance with “PMC Medical and Dental Undergraduate Education (Admissions, Curriculum and Conduct) Regulations 2021 ”, the basic eligibility criteria for admissions are as follows

  • The applicant has scored minimum Sixty Five Percent (65%) marks in the MDCAT-2021 examination conducted by the National Medical Authority, Pakistan Medical Commission
  • obtained a Higher Secondary School Certificate qualification ("HSSC") or an equivalent 12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan and having obtained more than Sixty Five Percent (65%) marks therein, or a higher percentage as may be notified by the Medical and Dental Council; and
  • passed the subjects of biology and chemistry and either physics or mathematics in the examination of the Higher Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent 12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan
No candidate shall be considered eligible on merit if the candidate has not acquired a
1. Minimum 65% marks, in HSSC or F.Sc (Pre-medical) or equivalent examination having minimum twelve years of education, and
2. Minimum 65% marks in the MDCAT-2021 examination conducted by the National Medical Authority, Pakistan Medical Commission

Transfer Policy BDS First Year

Policy for transfer to School of dentistry in BDS first year is based purely on open merit. The students who score highest in merit will be given admission irrespective migrating from public or private institute, at the same level in the same program. The merit formulation for BDS first year is as followed:
Aggregate = 50% (Obtain marks of Science Electives of HSSC) + 50% of MDCAT

Transfer Policy BDS Second Year

The policy for transfer to BDS second year is based on the first professional percentage marks. The students with higher score in BDS first professional will be given admission, provided quota seat for a particular province is vacant, at the same level in the same program.
