Department Of Orthodontics

Introduction

The main objective of the department of orthodontics is to provide safe and cost-effective treatment in the areas of the dentition and its related anatomical structures, including all preventive and corrective procedures for dental and skeletal irregularities to achieve a normal occlusion and pleasing facial contours.

The department of orthodontics located on the 4th floor of the school of dentistry boasts modern equipment and instruments in a patient oriented, student centred clinical environment. Our state-of-the-art department is vibrant and dynamic with auxiliary staff, demonstrators, and clinical faculty who provide contemporary orthodontic treatment for patients of the twin cities. We treat a wide range of clinical cases independently and as a team with the other disciplines of dentistry located in the same facility. Our orthodontic program for the BDS students provides them with the knowledge and skills to recognize developing malocclusions, to coordinate patient care among specialists, and to make appropriate referrals.

We believe in patient centred education committed to excellence and our department demands distinction in clinical care and patient satisfaction, in addition we endeavour to train outstanding clinicians and future faculty. If you are a student you will surely be convinced that the faculty and staff in the department are committed to providing you with an enjoyable and rewarding, foundational educational experience, and if you are a patient we will strive with the best of our abilities to provide the best treatment possible to relieve any cosmetic or health related issues of your teeth and the face.
